200H Treehouse Yoga Teacher Training
January 16 to April 4, 2027 (Weekends Only)
Chantal Umali, Rachel Bonifacio, Kim Espiritu,
Ria Tirazona, Jinky Ureta
The Treehouse Yoga 200-Hour Teacher Training is a soulful, community-rooted journey into the heart of yoga. Approved by Yoga Alliance under the Elevated Standards, this program blends classical philosophy with modern embodiment practices to support personal transformation and prepare you to teach with depth, confidence, and authenticity.

Our training goes beyond just postures. We explore yoga as a way of life—anchored in meditation, ethics, functional anatomy, and self-inquiry. Through a modular weekend format, trainees will learn how to sequence meaningful classes, cue with clarity, and hold space for healing and growth. We honor the roots of yoga while creating space for each trainee’s voice to emerge.

What makes this training truly Treehouse is our focus on real connection. This program is designed for those who want to grow not only as teachers, but as humans in service to something greater. We believe yoga teachers are community builders, ripple-makers, and space holders—and we are here to nurture that path.

Whether your goal is to teach or to deepen your personal practice, this training offers a grounded, heart-centered foundation in a supportive, non-performative environment where you can truly belong.

I AM: Insight, Art, and Mindfulness (Junk Journaling)
Inspired by the teachings of the Taoist Tradition
June 14, 2026, 11:00AM to 1:30PM, Curious Coffee
Rachel Bonifacio, with guest artist Liz Advincula
This month, we introduce the art of junk journaling. Junk journaling reminds us that not everything needs to be planned, optimized, or perfected. Sometimes wisdom emerges when we stop forcing the outcome and simply respond to what is in front of us. In Taoism, this is called Wu Wei—the art of moving with life rather than against it.
In Taoist philosophy, Wu Wei is often translated as "effortless action" or "doing without forcing." It does not mean doing nothing. Rather, it means working with life instead of against it—responding skillfully to what is present rather than insisting that reality conform to our plans.

Junk journaling gives us an opportunity to practice Wu Wei. Instead of trying to create the perfect page, we learn to trust the process, follow our intuition, and allow the work to emerge naturally.

Discussion and discourse will be led by Teacher Rachel Bonifacio, while the introduction to the art will be facilitated by guest artist Liz Advincula (IG: @nausicaas_diary). Materials are included in this gathering.

I AM: Insight, Art, and Mindfulness (Watercolor)
Inspired by the teachings of the Zen Tradition
April 3, 2026, 9:30AM to 12:00PM, Curious Coffee
Rachel Bonifacio
Program Rating: 5.0
Mindfulness and Insight in Watercolor was a 2.5-hour community practice where we explore watercolor painting as a form of meditation, awareness, and gentle inquiry.
Inspired by the teachings of Zen and Engaged Buddhism, this session invited participants to slow down, observe deeply, and allow creativity to arise from presence rather than performance.

This was not a technical painting workshop, and no art experience was required.
The intention was to cultivate presence, patience, and insight through quiet, shared practice in community.

T. Rachel Bonifacio is the founder of Treehouse Yoga and a mindfulness and meditation teacher. Her teaching and personal practice are inspired by the Plum Village tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh and the everyday practices of Zen Buddhism, emphasizing embodied awareness, deep listening, and community engagement.

Join us for two (2) Saturdays this October for an asana workshop that explores our bodies in preparation for flight!
This workshop aims to take a different approach to learning about arm balances and inversions. Instead of working on just the general instructions and how-to’s of arm balances and inversions that all focus on the core, we are invited to bring our attention and awareness to the other parts of our unique bodies whose subtle nuances also greatly affect our balance. Noticing our predispositions, natural tendencies, and habits in movement and stillness, and focusing on the little details of our work may give us the information we need to adapt the execution of the postures specific to ourselves.

Agenda:
Day 1, Oct 5, 10am to 12pm: Firm Foundations and Practice, Arm Balances part 1
Day 2, Oct 12, 10am to 12pm: Firm Foundations and Practice, Inversions and Arm Balances part 2

Both workshop days will be facilitated by our very own T. Chantal Umali, one of the pioneer yoga teachers in the Philippines.
