- Holy Week Mindfulness Day Retreat
Join us for a full-day mindfulness retreat during Holy Week—a time traditionally marked by pause, reflection, and quiet return. This retreat is inspired by and follows the Plum Village (Mahayana Buddhism / Zen) tradition of mindfulness, as taught by Thich Nhat Hanh, emphasizing simplicity, embodied awareness, and the practice of presence in everyday life. Through sitting meditation, mindful eating, community connection, and creative expression, we step away from constant doing and into intentional being. Agenda: Throughout the day, participants will be guided through a sequence of contemplative practices that support grounding, nervous system regulation, and self-inquiry. Journaling follows each major activity to help integrate experience before any verbal sharing. Lunch is a shared meal with the community, as we try to practice mindful eating. An art session after lunch serves as a non-verbal, process-based practice—no art experience required. We close with a community with a meditation circle and sharing of insight for the day. Sharing circles are offered as invitations, not obligations. Listening is treated as a practice in itself. This retreat is open to all levels. No prior meditation or art experience is required. While this is not considered a silent meditation, presence and active listening will be gently encouraged, and all sharing is optional. This retreat is offered at a special community rate: >> Treehouse Yoga package holders: Php 800 (full day) >> Non-package holders: Php 1,300 (full day) Inclusive of lunch and art materials (watercolor paint, brush, and paper). Should you decide to bring your own art materials, please send us a message at +639178506550 for a Php 300 discount. T. Rachel Bonifacio is the founder of Treehouse Yoga and a mindfulness and meditation teacher. Her teaching and personal practice are inspired by the Plum Village tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh and the everyday practices of Zen Buddhism, emphasizing embodied awareness, deep listening, and community engagement.
